Parents of Corrie Bird
Both Larry Bird and Janet Condra were childhood sweethearts. The two went to French Lick’s Springs Valley High School.
Larry received a scholarship to play college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers in 1974, but quit the school after a month.
He soon moved back to his hometown and enrolled at the Northwood Institute after finding Bloomington’s large population overwhelming.
In less than a year, Larry and Janet tied the knot. At the same time, Larry’s career began to take off.
Despite his professional success, Bird had little time for his relationship with Janet, which led to a brief separation.
In 1976, Larry and Janet reconciled and had a child, Corrie. Unfortunately, a baby did not fix their marital issues.
When Corrie was just a few months old, the couple filed for divorce for the last time.
Although Corrie’s parents separated, she maintained a positive relationship with Larry, her biological father.
Even though she played high school basketball and kept her father updated on her achievements, he was silent.
Larry first disregarded Corrie’s attempts to establish a connection, and he even turned down her invitation to Bird Night, the Celtics’ retirement party held in his honor.
It resulted in significant media backlash, culminating in a headline on February 8, 1993, that read: “Bird Ignored Daughter on His Special Night.”.
Larry Bird married Dinah Mattingly in 1989, while Janet Hargrave found happiness with Mr. Hargrave.

Other than that, we don’t know much about Corrie and Trent’s relationship.
Although Corrie’s father adopted two children, Conner and Mariah, with his wife Dinah, she does not have biological siblings.

However, Bird decided to leave her career behind in order to start a family.
